Google Play Store and Apple App Store have banned millions of apps. Pixalate’s “H1 2021 Delisted Mobile Apps Report” shows that over 8,13,000 apps were removed on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in the first half of 2021. Of these, 86 percent of the apps targeted children aged 12 years and below. Why Did Google Play Store And Apple App Store Ban These Apps?
Apps can be banned or delisted from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for a number of reasons. The report states that delisting of these apps may be due to App Store policy violations or developer removal of apps. According to the Pixalate Pixalate report, the company analyzed more than 5 million apps and these apps had 21 million customer reviews and ratings before they were removed from the App Store. Hence, apps are expected to be present on millions of users’ smartphones even after being removed from the App Store.
The Google Play Store and Apple App Store may have banned them from their stores, but these apps may be on your phone. Now what you should do is find them and delete or uninstall them immediately. Explain that companies can remove apps from the App Store and Play Store listings, but users can manually uninstall apps installed on devices.
